    New cooperation program on drugs with Latin America and Caribbean

    • The COPOLAD III Programme, funded by the European Union with the participation of the FIIAPP (Spanish Cooperation) and International Italo-Latin American Organization (IILA)   will support the improvement of public policies in Latin America and the Caribbean with more than 272 technical services, 180 training courses and communities of practice, 240 mentorships, and several innovation laboratories and international meetings.
    • More than 30 drug agencies, international organisations, experts and representatives of civil society witnessed the presentation event.
    • The programme, which will mobilise experts  European public institutions to work with their counterparts in Latin America and the Caribbean, includes a look at human rights and their connection with the 2030 Agenda, the gender approach and the environmental impacts of drugs.

    Challenges and struggles to improve gender equity in drug policies

    Gender roles and relationships affect use, access to substances, initiation of use, responses to advertising, marketing and promotion of legal substances, and how substance use functions as a response to experiences of gender-based trauma, care, poverty, social ties, inequality or marginalisation. It also affects responses to treatments, policies, and health promotion or harm reduction messages. In this article we offer some good practices for taking a critical look at policies.

    COPOLAD exchange the experience of italian antidrug services in the fight against drug trafficking

    The session was attended by Antonio De Cristofaro, from the Italian Anti-Drug Services as representative of the COPOLAD program on drugs,  who shared the experience of the Italian Anti-Drug Services on drug trafficking, highlighting the importance of new technologies and cooperation between countries.
