Objective of the centre/ services
The National Drug Abuse Control Council's main objectives are to reduce the demand and supply of drugs and to alleviate the consequences associated with the misuse of licit and illicit drugs. These objectives are executed through the following six components: 1. Public Education 2. School Drug Prevention 3. Community Empowerment 4. Research and Information 5. Treatment and Rehabilitation 6. Legal Reform

The National Drug Abuse Control Council provides a national coverage with offices located in every district making it more accessible for the Belizean public.

Description of the main activities
The National Drug Abuse Control Council has three main Unit: The Drug Education Unit that provided Drug Education to schools, work place and community on the effects of drugs. This is provided through various school base approach, presentation and community empowerment. Next is the Treatment and Rehabilitation Unit that offers Outreach service, individual accessing this are assess and the proper referral for treatment services is made. Lastly the Research and Information Unit with is main activity is to gather data from both units on coverage of services offer and the council and data on the drug situation of the country.
