ECIRyC is an instrument for measuring the self-control of impulses, using the characteristic features of this personality dimension as study factors. For this purpose, 20 items are used with a Likert type response format with four response options
Reliability indices remain high from their original version (α: .82) until after debugging is completed (α: .85), and also shows high indices establishing differentiations by sex (α: .85 women and α:. 83 men). These values categorized as medium / high exceed those of other instruments for evaluating similar constructs in terms of impulsivity measures. In turn, the construct validity also has a high score (53.2%), as well as concurrent validity, based on the correlations found with other measures of impulsivity
High scores evidence the presence of impulsivity traits in the subject
