Description

Abstract

ESACTA is an instrument for measuring the adolescent's attitude towards the specific use of tobacco through three factors: attitudinal disposition towards use, index of dislike towards tobacco and perception of satisfaction through the use of tobacco. To do this, 13 items are used on a Likert-type scale with five response options

Psychometric characteristics

The three factors that make up the scale explain 58.51% of the variance, as well as adequate values of test-retest reliability (r> .4, p <.01). In addition, the exploratory factor analysis confirms equal or superior values of variance explained with respect to the original versions of the scales

No. of items
It consists of 13 items that are answered on a Likert scale with five response options ranging from 'strongly disagree' to 'strongly agree'
Duration
5 min

Higher scores indicate a more favorable trend toward maintaining healthy behaviors (avoidance of tobacco use)
