Description

Abstract

CPQ-A is a screening instrument for the detection of problems associated with cannabis use and can be applied both in the clinical setting and in the normative population. For this, 27 items are used that are answered in a scale of dichotomous response

Psychometric characteristics

In the validation study the questionnaire is interpreted in a one-dimensional way, yielding a total Cronbach's alpha of .86. It also shows evidence of adequate convergent validity, and its score allows discrimination between moderate and excessive cannabis users in the last month. On the other hand, it presents a sensitivity and specificity adjusted to determine cases of abuse and dependence following the DSM IV-TR criteria, as well as, its results are comparable to the CPQ for adults (Martin et al., 2006)
