Description

Abstract
The instrument consists of three structured questionnaires that assess: 1. the Group. It aims to get all the information related to the group, it investigates: Background, Membership, Finance and group work. The questionnaire consists of 61 items. 2. Meetings. It consists of 34 items that investigate: group history, use pattern before recovery, treatment aspects before and after admission to AA, alcohol relation, 12-step program issues and spirituality. 3. Member Questionnaire, applicable to group members, investigates: background, use patterns before becoming a member of AA, aspects of treatment before and after entering the program. 4. The Interviewer Observations guide. It contains information of the Interviewer on the greetings, rituals, speakers, responses from the public and the environment observed during group meetings.
Psychometric characteristics
A grouping of variables was observed in a single dimension (factor loadings ranged between .57 and .75), with 43.6% of variance explained.
