Abstract
Structured questionnaire with 68 multiple choice items that assess eight ways of coping: 1. Emotional 2. Facilitator, 3. Avoidance, 4. Control, 5. Inaction, 6.Confrontation, 7. Support 8. Independence. Includes an agenda that can be applied during a family meeting in which all family members participate through dialogue and conversation on the following aspects: a) family problems, b) reactions and positions of members, c) attitudes and each one's point of view, and d) future prospects of the family to solve the problem.
Psychometric characteristics
Comprises a familiogram with data from family, subject's history of alcohol use, effects of the subject's use in other family members, ways of coping with the family when using, seeking social support, family and subject's health and welfare , and future.

Way of administration
It is aplied as a personal interview taking two semistructured interview guides as reference , individual and family interview, applicable to the user (user of alcohol or drugs) and one of the family members.
Way of qualification
It includes a scale comprising three possible answers: "no", " once or twice" and " more often ".
