Description

Abstract

BSSS evaluates the personality trait of search for sensations in its short version (extended version by Zuckerman, Eysenck, & Eysenck, 1978) by means of a total of eight items, where each dimension of the trait (search of emotions and adventures, search of experiences, disinhibition and susceptibility to boredom) is represented by two items, serving as an instrument to detect risk factors associated with drug use

Psychometric characteristics

Reliability - Validity:

In the statistical analyzes, a reliability coefficient close to .80 similar to that found in other validation studies is obtained. In turn, it is observed that the one-dimensional model presents a good fit, as well as, metric invariance between men and women. Likewise, the scores show significant differences between drug users (alcohol, tobacco and cannabis), as well as, it is a good predictor in the intention of experimentation, specifically with cannabis

No. of items
The questionnaire is made up of 8 items that are answered on a Likert-type scale that ranges from nothing in agreement (0) to strongly agree (4)
