FES evaluates the family climate through the perceptions referred by the members of the set, including comparisons of them, as well as, allows to evaluate the changes produced in the family dynamics and to evaluate the impact of the interventions developed through 90 items of dichotomous response
It shows good indexes of validity discriminating functional families and of clinical profile. The test-retest reliability shows temporary stability, as well as, most of the internal consistency values are above .70
Each item is answered with 0/1 to indicate the absence or presence of the component evaluated, respectively. The presence of problems is inferred by means of a high score in the conflict and control subscales, as well as, the absence is indicated by low scores in the other subscales
