Description

Abstract

EA evaluates the parental educational styles through two versions (Affect-Communication and Critical-Rejection) through two versions. On the one hand, the version aimed at children measures the perception of the educational style by differentiating between the father and the mother, and on the other, the parents' version responds to specific behaviors expressed by the children. For this, a total of 20 graduated items are used on a Likert scale.

Psychometric characteristics

In terms of reliability, the internal consistency indices were the following: Factor I-parent α = .90; Factor II-parent α = .83; I-mother factor α = .87; Factor II-mother α = .81. In turn, the indexes of homogeneity of the items were greater than .45. Likewise, this scale allows obtaining a total score (difference between the factor I and II score). The internal consistency was: α = .92 parent and α = .90 mother, these scores being higher than those of each factor individually. In relation to the internal consistency coefficients of the parent version they also showed a good fit (α = .78 Affect-Communication; α = .66 Critical-Rejection)

No. of items
It consists of 10 items in each factor that are answered on a Likert scale with five answer options ranging from 'never' to 'always'
Duration
