La DIRECCIÓN REGIONAL DE SALUD DE ANCASH, es un órgano de línea del Gobierno Regional, que direcciona su misión y visión en concordancia a las políticas y planes nacionales y regionales contribuyendo al logro de los objetivos en materia de salud Pública; tiene por finalidad promover el acceso a una atención integral de salud de calidad desarrollando REDES de servicios, sistema de gestión y potencial humano competente; cumpliendo las políticas y objetivos nacionales de salud en concertación con todos los sectores públicos y privados y otros actores sociales. La persona es el centro de nuestra misión a la cual nos dedicamos con respeto a la vida y derechos fundamentales de todos los peruanos, desde su fecundación hasta su muerte natural, respetando el curso natural de su vida y construyendo a la gran tarea nacional de lograr el desarrollo de todos nuestros ciudadanos.

Mejorar la salud de la población de la Región Ancash, garantizando el acceso a una atención integral, respetando la multiculturalidad con una gestión eficiente y participación de la población organizada e intersectorial. Controlar la morbimortalidad de las enfermedades no transmisibles y aquellas originadas por factores externos, con énfasis en las poblaciones más vulnerables. Fortalecer acciones de salud mental, en todas las etapas de vida, priorizando los grupos de riesgo.
