- El objetivo fue y es dar respuesta a los problemas toxicológicos, siendo el primer centro especializado con sede en un hospital general de agudos, lo que pone precisamente en evidencia la importancia de las patologías de origen toxicológico que afectan en forma aguda y grave a la comunidad. Cuenta además con un equipo de asistencia específica de la problemática del abuso de sustancias psicoactivas, que incluye el alcoholismo y la drogadependencia, para la adolescencia y la edad adulta.
