Entidad del Gobierno de Chile responsable de elaborar políticas de prevención, tratamiento, rehabilitación y reinserción social de las personas afectadas por consumo de drogas y alcohol. Radica en el Ministerio del Interior y Seguridad Pública, fue creado por Ley N° 20.502 promulgada el 21 de febrero de 2011.Su misión es:Ejecutar políticas de prevención, tratamiento, rehabilitación e integración de personas con consumo problematico de sustancias.Elaborar Estrategia Nacional de Drogas.

Objective of the centre/ services
Colaborar con el Ministro del Interior y Seguridad Pública, y con el Subsecretario de Prevención del Delito, en el ámbito de sus atribuciones, en la elaboración de políticas en materia de prevención del consumo de estupefacientes, sustancias psicotrópicas e ingestión abusiva de alcohol, y de tratamiento, rehabilitación y reinserción social de las personas afectadas por dichos estupefacientes y sustancias psicotrópicas, cuando estas conductas constituyan un factor de riesgo para la comisión de delitos. Impulsar y apoyar, técnica y financieramente, programas, proyectos y actividades de Ministerios o Servicios Públicos destinados a la prevención del consumo de drogas y alcohol, así como al tratamiento, rehabilitación y reinserción social de las personas afectadas por la drogadicción y el alcoholismo, y ejecutarlos, en su caso. Elaborar una Estrategia Nacional de prevención del Consumo de Drogas y Alcohol, coordinar su implementación, y dar apoyo técnico a las acciones que las entidades de la Administración del Estado emprendan en el marco de su ejecución. Administrar el fondo establecido por el artículo 46 de la ley Nº 20.000. Vincularse con organismos nacionales e interncionales que se ocupen de temas relativos a la prevención, tratamiento y rehabilitación del consumo de drogas y alcohol. Elaborar, aprobar y desarrollar programas de capacitación y difusión, orientados a la prevención del consumo de drogas y alcohol, y estimular la participación ciudadana en estas materias. SENDA dará continuidad a las labores que cumplía el Consejo Nacional para el Control de Estupefacientes (CONACE), creado mediante el Decreto Nº 683 del 21 de septiembre de 1990.
