Institutional presentation
La Dirección Regional de Salud fue creada el año 1980, como Órgano de Línea que dependía del Organismo de Desarrollo Social (ORDES), posteriormente en el año 1986 fue cambiada la denominación con el nombre de Unidad Departamental de Salud - UDES. A partir de el 30 de abril de 1993, se denomina Sub Región de Salud Ayacucho, mediante Resolución Ministerial Nº 226-93-SA, el cual dependió funcional y estructuralmente de la Región "Los Libertadores Wari". Hasta que el 15 de marzo de 1996, según Resolución Directoral Nº 0080-96 DG-SRS-AYAC., se resuelve conformar las nuevas Unidades Territoriales de Salud (UTES), que pasan a depender del Consejo Transitorio de Administración Regional de Ayacucho (ex CTAR). Desde entonces, el Sector Salud viene funcionando como Dirección Regional de Salud de Ayacucho (DIRESA) independiente de la administración departamental.
