Personas, calle, consumo: dos estudios sobre consumo de pasta base en Uruguay

Personas, calle, consumo: dos estudios sobre consumo de pasta base en Uruguay

JND. Junta Nacional de Drogas (Uruguay)

This research shows that the population with the highest risk of problematic use of substances such as cocaine base paste (PBC) is made up of young people, mostly men, in conditions of high social vulnerability. It also allows us to study in-depth aspects that are considered as risk factors such as hypermasculinity and its multiple manifestations, consumption practices, health and survival strategies, among other aspects. These are not definitive conclusions, nor do they cover all of reality, but they represent findings that make it possible to take the substance out of a place of centrality and to analyze in greater depth the variables that would account for the "why" of cocaine base paste in these contexts.
