The MAP is a semistructured clinical interview developed by Marsden et al, designed to be used as a tool for monitoring and follow-up of treatment outcomes in addiction. The self-administered MAP collects information about problems experienced by users of alcohol or drugs in four life-functioning areas: substance use, risky behaviors to health, physical or psychological health problems, life context and social functioning (social and family problems and criminal behavior).
Consists of 60 items and can be administered within about 15-20 minutes, either in a guided manner or self-administered.
The MAP has the following scales: Substance use, Health-risk behaviors, Physical symptoms, Social / personal functioning; these scales are valued with open questions, using substances and problems associated with use.
