Abstract

AUDIT is an instrument for the evaluation of alcohol use through three factors, these are, symptoms of dependency, risk use or harmful use. To do this, a total of 10 items of multiple choice are used, constituting an effective test in the assessment of problematic use

Psychometric characteristics

It has a high internal consistency and reliability- The modifications in the order of the questions and their terms did not affect the scores, so that a certain flexibility is inferred in the application of items. It has also demonstrated its usefulness as a screening instrument for the alcohol use risk in primary care clinics and emergency medical services in disorders related to this substance and the detection of the risk of use
