Description

Abstract

POSIT is a problem detection instrument oriented to ten specific areas, these are substance abuse, physical and mental health, family and peer relationships, educational level, vocational interest, social skills, leisure and aggressive behavior or delinquency. For this, it uses 139 dichotomous response items (yes / no)

Psychometric characteristics

In its different versions, an adequate psychometric adjustment is observed regarding the level of internal consistency, sensitivity and specificity, as well as, most of the items that make up the factors work satisfactorily for the evaluation of all the areas. However, there have been inconsistencies in the areas of physical health, social skills and leisure of the Mexican version of the adolescent population

No. of items
It consists of 139 items that are answered under a dichotomous response system (yes / no)
Duration
20-30 min
Way of administration
  • Individual and collective
  • Paper
Way of qualification

There are two modalities for its correction. The first one includes an interpretation based on factors that indicate high or low risk for each of the factors. On the other hand, the updated version includes two cut scores based on three risk levels, these are low, medium and high associated with the study factors, where the total score indicates the risk level of each area.

Application context
