Description

Abstract

Evaluate the parental styles of fathers and mothers of school-age children through 32 items using a Likert-type scale with five response options

Psychometric characteristics

It shows a good internal consistency for two of the dimensions of the QEDP - Reduced Version, with observed values of .82 for the democratic dimension and .80 for the authoritarian dimension. The permissive style is the least consistent of the three, with an alpha coefficient of .63, a fact that can be derived from the reduced number of elements (5) of this dimension. In general terms, the results obtained approximate the values of the original version of the PSDQ - Short Form, whose authors (Robinson, Mandleco, Olsen, & Hart, 2001) report coefficients of .86, .82 and .64 for the democratic, authoritarian and permissive styles, respectively
