Description

Abstract

SDS evaluates the level of dependence and severity associated with drug use, through different psychological components such as the control, anxiety symtoms and concern about use. To do this, a total of 5 items are used on a Likert scale with four response options.

Psychometric characteristics

The original manuscript points to the correlation between items with the measurement construct, as well as, to a remarkable criterion validity. Likewise, other validation studies show an adequate test-retest reliability (.72 interclass correlation), although a moderate level of internal consistency (.55).

No. of items
It consists of 5 items that are answered on a Likert scale with four response options ranging from 'never / almost never' (0) to 'always / almost always' (3); except the last item that extends from 'no difficulty' to 'impossible'
